Pregnancy update

I’ve never been pregnant and blogging at the same time so I thought I better do at least one of these.  I kept pregnancy books with kids and it’s fun to look back.

How far along:  14 weeks

Baby size:  A lemon this week

Total weight gain:  I just went to the doctor yesterday and I’m at 5lbs.  I gained 20lbs with my other two pregnancies.  I’m ahead of where I was with them this time.  I’m also AMA (advanced maternal age) so I hope that slower metabolism doesn’t work against me!

Sleep:  Good and lots of it!  I hit a wall each day in the late afternoon and often end up taking a nap after work.  Growing a baby is hard work!

Maternity clothes:  I’m wearing some maternity shirts because they are longer but my jeans still fit, so far.

Food cravings:  Carbs and ice cream…..no wonder I’ve gained 5lbs!  A fellow pregnant friend posted about loving honey toast.  It sounded good so that has become my go to breakfast.

Food aversions:  Meat

Symptoms:  Nausea and fatigue.  The nausea comes and goes but thankfully, I’ve never gotten sick.

Appointments:  The kids got to hear the heartbeat yesterday.  Nolan said, “That’s cool that he knows how to gallop!”  The next appointment will be an anatomy scan with the specialist, since I’m AMA.

Movement:  Not feeling any movement yet but I felt it at 15 weeks with Nolan so I expect it soon.

Gender:  Boy!  We found out with the Harmony test at 11 weeks.

What I miss:  Sushi and wine.

Nursery progress:  Target had a deal on a crib and bassinet so we have those.  I also bought a newborn to 3 month lot of clothing from one of those Facebook sites.  I think I have Tim talked into a planked wall behind the crib.  I’m excited for him to get started!

Updates

Hello!  I can’t believe that I haven’t posted in two months.  I have some updates and one big one for you so stick with me!

  • Nolan’s baseball team won the 5/6 World Series!  That was pretty cool and he was excited.  They even got trophies!

Tea Party and World Series 026

  • I sprained my ankle walking into the garage.  My ankle rolled and all my weight went onto the side of my foot.  Ouch!  It’s been two weeks and I’m still limping around.  My foot is pretty colorful.  I wish I had a better story!
  • We had our third and final placement was Safe Families.  The 3 year old was with us for 6 weeks.  She was a sweet little girl and we sure do miss her but she is back with her family so that’s a good thing!

Now for the big announcement…..I’m pregnant with a baby boy due in November!  We got involved with Safe Families because I felt like our family was not complete.  Looks like God agreed!  We picked up our last placement on a Monday and I found out I was pregnant that Saturday.  Janie was thrilled and cried tears of joy.  She can’t wait to have a baby around.  Nolan was not interested in becoming a big brother.  However, I think he’s come around a bit now that he knows it’s a boy.  We’re still a little shocked but very excited!
